cruise control broke

How to diagnose? seen post to hold down OFF switch turn ignition key to ON
Cruise blinked multiple time (> 5); one then wait 5-10 seconds, then 2, etc;
I pressed the Resume, set, accel but no response

Switch has been a problem for 3-5 years. Hard to set originally and then became super sensitive. Truck would accel if I bumped the steering wheel or truck hit bump in rode. Last week it became hard to get the speed set; it would automatically start accelerating to 5-10 mph over the set speed; I would have to hit the break to stop it

Is the cruise servo bad or is it the switch?

2003 F150 Supercrew XLT

No letter from Ford for recall; attempted today to call - their system indicated down after 3-4 minutes on phone

You should have received letters in the mail. I have a collection of them, -their own file lol. Ford sent out letters to everyone.

Huh. Well, look at the master cylinder where the brake tap is. Make sure it isn't covered in fluid. All kinds of crap will be stuck to it. If so, it's bad and a hazard. Fire hazard.

You may have a different problem, but check that out anyway.
