in regards to the 09+ tailgate badge being grooved.... here is a part number for the one that is flush.

well i jsut picked up a set of 04-08 emblems, fenders and tailgate, for $15 shipped off ebay . really happy i got them so cheap

they need to tape and the paint has been removed, so they are full chrome. so what is the best method to paint the letters? tape the rest off and spray? or maybe enamel paint and let it fill the crevices?

and what is the best tape to use to re-mount them?

 

3m automotive double sided adhesive to mount.

i would mask the emblems completely then cut out the letters

 

yeah, thats the conclusion i came to. or just enamel and a small brush. might look good with the chrome too opposed to flat black

i would rather have bought a set with paint, but couldnt find any XLT 5.4 Triton other than the ones i bought

 

Well I got my badges a few days ago and got them blacked out, any suggestions for letter coloring? I was thinking a dark gray color or just highlighting them with a dark shade of gray.

(pinstripes and lariat decal are gone now)
