Is your truck completely stock?? if so, I have a Hypertech I'll sell ya cheap. If not, I don't think you want canned tunes

Then check this out... it has for normal (87 octane) and performance (93 octane). You can change shift points, raise rev limiter, change tire & gear size, re-calibrate speedo .... if you don't want to go all out with an Edge or the like, this will do the job...http://www.amazon.com/Hypertech-4102.../dp/B000BAT8DE

If your interested.... $75 plus sh and it's yours

So basically there is no point of getting a programmer if I'm riding almost stock??

Only mods CAI and exhaust. Thank you

X2!

You would benefit from a canned tune just from improved shift points and a little boost in timing. I even have a smoother idle.

i got it 4 years ago, so ive forgotten what the stock settings felt like. i got it when i bought my 35's to improve shift firmness and to calibrate my speedo mainly. but it has done a good job of keeping my truck driveable with the 35's.

so if you could get one, it would definitely be worth it i think. check the classifieds in the forum, you might be able to find one.

If cdcasinger is not interested I might be. I'm looking at getting headers and wonder if this would work for me.

I got it to raise the rev limiter and change the shifting. I had the trans on a firmer shift, like it had a shift kit in it, but (at my age) grew tired of it and returned my truck to stock. I don't do any towing, but it was neat at the time

That is totally wrong. I would hate to drive my truck without tunes. I have 104,000 on it and 73,000 of those are with a tuner.

I think it's a pretty tough question. Without dyno-tuning each model on the same truck under the same conditions, no one knows exactly which tuner gives you more power over another. That being said, i got PHP custom tunes on my Gryphon a few months ago.. never will i drive an un-tuned truck again. The canned tunes were good, but custom tunes are incredible.
