So... I have been thinkin'....
With my torsion bars cranked I could fit 315/70/17 tires with maybe a little trimming, OR I could just get a 3" body lift and do them with no trimming. With a BL, I would want a single (main) door step, instead of the cab-long's.
My thought became action and I took off the long steps to see what it would look like. I must say, She looks more like what a 4x4 should instead of prissy and glamorous. I can appreciate the height more now as (being 5'7) I have to climb in instead of just stepping up.
This is just the beginning to my final goal of the tires, but just thought I would share and see what you guys think. And I know what some of you are going to say... paint the frame
That was my first thought when I stood back to eye it up.
With all that said.... here she is:

Yeah... from what I have read, 35's should fit on these 8" rims, though 10's would be better. And since I don't wish to re-gear, 35's are my end limit. Gettin' ancy now that the bug has hit me. I would like to have this all done before winter

I say lift just enough to stuff whatever size tire your going after underneath it. Keeps your center of gravity as low as possible while still delivering ground clearance for off road use.
Here is my truck running a BFG AT KO 315/70R17 with just the torsion bars cranked in the front 2.25" and the rear lifted 2.5" using a different block (yes, I actually like having a rake to my truck). I did trim just a little bit off of the lower front valence but if your not looking for it you'd never notice.

I am assuming by the looks that you just trimmed the lower curve section since it appears to still match up with the bumper edge correctly. My current stock 265/70's look puny compared. And welcome to F150online
You Texas boys need to cruise up here to the North East and lend some support. Seems to be weak here (besides FordGuy24) that frequent here regular
That's a good idea and if I had to have a second set of wheels the fx4"s would be them. Pls you got 5 haha
We need one giant obs meet but ppl are too lazy. If I met up with fordguy24 I'd have to steal his diff cover haha

A meet would be sick. How about Denver?
Its pretty close to the middle right haha
Red - Love your truck, red and black has always been one of my favorite color combos. I wish I could have kept my step bars off but I'm around the same height as you so I'd be getting a workout in everytime I got in haha
