Unhappy gauge cluster acts funny (pic)

well its happened again. i have started a couple of threads in the past about this but got no real answers so now i snapped a pic of it to show you guys whats wrong.

this happened while on the turnpike back from key west and the truck is currently doing about 75 and pulling a boat. the edge programmer also shut off while this happens. THE TRUCK WILL STILL RUN AND ACT FINE. the cruise even works. now if i pull over and try to restart the truck it will refuse to start after a several tries(it'll start then die, start...die) the only successful way to start it is buy unplugging the edge and then plugging it back in. teh dah it runs like a champ and the cluster works. this seems to happen at least once every 3 months
so whats wrong with my truck? also 2000 f150 5.4 97k

thanks

the edge cable has been known to cause issues with our gen trucks via the OBD2 cable. I don't know if this was the exact issue being seen, but i'd assume so.

go look though the tuning & programming section, or do a search about the OBD2 cable problems.

Does this happen with the truck programmed to stock and the cable and device removed?

On second thought don't do anything call edge and get a new cable!
Your condition could deteriorate and leave you stranded without a truck.
Don't try to program anything.
Just get the new cable and swap it.

X3000 dont do anything to that edge until you get another cable. One thing screws up and you will be getting it towed to your dealership. It happened to me

Whats the build date on the edge and cable? There is a good possibity they will send you another cable for free and you return your old cable to them. Edge treated me right when i had my problems, sent me a brand new edge and a new cable and paid to have the truck reflashed. They told me they would pay my towing bill but they just paid for the actual dealership bill

DUUUUUDE!!!
My truck does the EXACT SAME THING. If you read your DTC's it throws a P1260 which is a PATS code. Unplug and plug Edge back in, works fine. Its only when towing or working the truck. Temp sensor is inop Oil light and engine light come on. Speedo, RPMS and ODO stop working. So far it sounds like pure speculation its the cable...

So the saying cable didn't fix the problem?

If not, call Edge and tell them you'd like a refund, or tell you the solution to the problem.

I would remove the Edge and drive it fo a while and see if the issue goes away that way we have at least narrwoed it down.
