Seat swap question

I have a 98 ext cab XL with the plain jane benchseat.

Like many others, I'd prefer buckets and a console.
Searched the local Craigslist and just found buckets and console that are the correct color, tan, from a '99 Expedition.

Will this swap work without major mods, etc?

Not afraid to tackle the job if mods are necessary but i'm limited right now on access to tools.

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

they will bolt right up but youll need the bolts from the donor and to tap some holes in your floor. (theyre already there just need to be threaded)

EDIT: also i have both taps needed in houston to do it

Yah I had the 60/40 bench in mine and just found and swapped them for a set of racing seats. The only advice I have is to make sure you keep the torx bit straight when your breaking the seat bolts loose other wise you'll strip one and be using alot of 4 letter words trying to get it out. But all the bolt holes are reused except one on the passenger's side you need to tap, the hole is already there just need to cut the carpet and pull the rubber plug and tap the whole. I think honestly the whole project lasted me about 3 hours and while i had the seats out i took the time to shampoo the carpet underneath, you'll be amazed how dirty the carpet is there.

Seat update

Been feeling like crap lately, thus the delayed reply.

I found a pair of cloth, tan buckets from a '00 XLt and a tan Expedition console. Installed them today and man am I pleased!

The buckets have armrests and I'd like to remove them for now; any special tricks to this?

Thanks for all the inputs...................I'm having fun with this truck!

Well you'll have a hole in each cover if you do. There's a tors head bolt holding each one and a cable iirc. I liked the armrests when I had them

Right, -it didn't take me long to get rid of those sht fck bolts. Think they went in the garbage back in 2001-2002. I'll never forget them tho....- Fricken things!
