help me make up my mind!

OK so I have a 2001 f150. My HU is acting up and not playing cds sometimes. I want to replace it with a touch screen HU. The one I am looking at is roughly $350. Since it is summer now, I am working and saving money. Right now I have enough to do something else though, hi-flow cats. I want to do both eventually, but should I go ahead and do the hi-flows or keep saving and get the HU first? Any opinions are appreciated. Oh and I already have a bullet y'd to dual 3.5 inch tips.

I would wait on the HU IMO. I mean you still have the radio right?

Yes I still have the radio, and every now and then I can get a cd to play. I was also thinking hi-flows....but I wanted some opinions.

Go with high flows first, since you have an exhaust and you would be improving in it. Then go with the radio. Performance is much more important than sound

Have you tried cleaning the cd player? If not give that a shot. You can buy the kit in the $10 range at Walmart, BestBuy, etc. If that works then there is no debate.

Or, you could get a cheap cd player from a pawn shop to carry you over if you are that concerned about cd's.

Yes, I have tried cleaning it multiple times. I will just live with it till I save up enough for a nice HU. I might need the HU after the hi-flows to hear the music lol.

Better yet... If you can find a shop that will weld in a set of used cats, I have 2 Bassini high flow cats... 2.5 in. .... I got from phil6608 and I will give you for the price of shipping. Phil said they only have 5000 miles on them before he went to 3" . then you can have your high flow cats and your HU at the same time

how do the bassini ones compare to the magnaflow 94106 ones? Also, how much would shipping be? I know for WAY less than 2 hiflows. Oh and I still wont be able to get them at the same time haha. Ill have to keep on saving for the clarion I want.

Replied to your PM... If you want them, at least it will save you some time and money for your Clarion. Just let me know and they're yours
