Not yet I put it all back together for the weekend and am going to unplug the multifunction switch but in order to do that I need to remove the steering wheel. So i will try that with in the next couple days.

The two codes refer to the mode select switch having an circuit issue.
One code is an open, the other is a short to ground.
The switch mostly sends the mode requests to the GEM.
The rest of the operations are conducted by the GEM and reported back as complete or not.
I would be looking for a pinched or cut lead if work was done on trans work, removal and install etc.
Sometimes the code set is a bit removed from the actual fault area but is the only way the system has of reporting it.
Good luck.

tranny has never been removed from the truck. The circuit I am chasing just goes from the GEM, 4wd switch and the multifunction switch.

Yeah i do have the same wiring diagram through All Data. I'm gonna try unplugging the multifunction switch tomorrow and see what happens. If that doesn't fix it I'm just gonna take the servo motor off the back of the T case and use a pair of vise grips to put it manually for the mud races weekend. I didn't go in them yesterday because the pit was too soupy for 4H.

Yea, I couldn't look up that diagram on ALLData. - I have a 98 account only. So I got the 2000 diagram from an online Library lol. What can I say, -I liked it better than the diag on the 2000 Ford service DVD

I found this...

http://atraonline.com/gears/2004/2004-03/2004_3_04.pdf

in the next couple days I am ripping all the tape off that circuit starting at the 4wd switch on the dash and am going to try to trace the wires back to the gem.

I give up. It will only see one more mud race (saturday) before the L swap goes on anyway. i don't plan to rip through the mud after that.
