Will axles out of Per-97 trucks fit?

Title

One guy I work around has managed to turn the 8.8" into a lathe and the passenger axle has lost close to 1/8" in diameter on the bearing surface. He only noticed it once gear oil started leaking everywhere, and I have to fix it ASAP.

8.8" Open dif S862B tag code right side axle

Called all over the place only NAPA had one on hand and wanted $250+ (bullS), only one 97+ F150 in the junkyard and the rear doesnt look in that good of condition. But PLENTY of pre 97's around to pick from.

Thanks for the help guys.

im pretty sure an 8.8 out of a truck or van should work. the shock mounts and brake lines might be in differnt place's.

i was and still am looking for an 8.8 out of an exploder so i can get 4.10's and rear disc brakes.

not 100% thoe.

I think pre 97 8.8's were 5x5.5 wheel pattern to go with the d44 ttb?

yup pre 97 had the 5x5.5 bolt patern... you could run different rear wheels.... but forget about rotating tires.lol
