Did you need the steering extension for a 3" body lift on an '01?

good question...I have a body lift on my truck, but the guys who installed the bl didn't install the steering extension bcuz it interfered w/ the motor for the adjustable pedals...my truck steers fine, steering feels solid...i'm curious to read what others have to say about it...

I have the adjustable pedels also and used the steering extension. It's been a while, but I don't see how you cannot use it. I remember prior to the installation being worried about it, but it turned out to be one of the easiest parts of the install.

I don't see how you could not use it, I don't think there is enough adjustment without it.

I had to use it on both the BL's I did on a 2000 and my 2003. The 00 didn't have adjustable pedals, but the 2003 did. I would definately put it on, it is not that difficult to install, just a little cramped.

The intermediate steering shaft is in two parts. It telescopes. The extension pushes the two parts back together to their original length.
