i wanna do 4.10's since im in it now.. gas prices have kinda discouraged my love for my truck... i could deal with a nice truck with enough power that gets bad mileage but when its no power or mileage life sucks... but im hopin they make a big difference like i hope.. its a 97 scab 4x4 4.6 with 3.55's... i see alot of people say the difference is pretty awesome, but i think 4.56 is too much since its mainly a commuter.

I basically have the same set-up as you, and I would switch to 4.10s if I ever needed gears. Right now I just can't justify the $.

love your truck again

After a breif relationship with my 3.31:1 gears, it was time to go. HELLO 4.10:1 gears!!
I get about 13.5 city MPG with 265/70/16 tires, and about 16 mpg highway driving.
While i was changing gears, i figured a nice limited slip would go great with the new gears, so i put a Detroit Tru-Trac in.

My uncle put 4.56s in his 7lug 5.4 lariat and said its alot better but not what he expected, thats on 285s. I'd like 4.56s and a Lightning motor, these modular engines are gutless...For the cost of re-gearing why don't you consider finding a used supercharger...I remember prochargers used with IC's going for 16-1800 2 or 3 yrs ago
