Hood release cable problem solved!

The cable was not broken, the latch mechanism was in need of lots of WD40. Keep this area well lubricated to avoid problems.
There should be a grill or bottom of bumper reachable emergency release cable should the cabin release latch become broken or get stuck.
Has anyone invented this idea yet?

Your Maintenance Manual has a 6 month interval that recommends: Check and lubricate all hinges, latches and outside locks. Don't feel bad, the hood latch must be the most often forgotten latch of all. I would not recommend an emergency release cable. It would become known and would defeat the inside the cab latch.
