My turn to ask for thoughts

Here's the deal guys... last week I had to drive my truck from Delaware to near Georgia....unprepared, because work could not provide a decent vehicle. I drove it 550 miles and thought something wasn't right but not toooooo concerned. A co-worker... whom I trust.... had to drive it back to Delaware.. another 550 miles.

He calls me and says it's making a noise. we discussed it and he got it home. When I return from my Florida trip today and got in it... it was making a nasty grinding noise under the front. Semi-constant, meaning it would stop for a short period then resume.

I was thinking maybe the front driveshaft u-joints since the cv axles are new and hoping like he** it's not the front gears. Putting it in 4WD doesn't seem to make a difference, but I can certainly feel it in the floorboard.

Took off work tomorrow to check it out and see where I stand.
Your thoughts?

Definitely from the front (can feel in the floorboard under my feet)... Oxymoron is that I had it scheduled 2 weeks ago for front hub bearings and new heavy duty u-joints (for $900) from where I used to work, for preventative maintenance, but had to re-schedule because of work

Yup... first thing in A.M, ... on 2 jack stands and see where I stand. Work hates me because I took off to fix my truck from their screw-up.

So Be It
