maybe i could peel them off and paint them and put them back on ?

Most likely not. The paint would crack and peel if you curled it when you put it back on.

besides the 97-03 F150's hide a body lift better than any other truck EVER

OP the truck is looking great, get that frame painted. And a set of step bars installed and gap gaurds and know one will know that you have a body lift.

step bars help tremendously in hiding the main frame rail. if you were to get full wheelbase ones, they would cover it completely.

thanks man and i will eventually just got to get some extra cash because next on the to do list is a 6' suspension lift with 37/13.50 toyos and 4.88s so if i have the extra money after that i def will but regardless i am going to paint the frame once i have the time
