Angry Lots of clunks, ticks, and ratteling

Ok, im new to this whole thing cause I try to figure stuff out myself most of the time but I need a little help this time. Here's the specs on the truck: 02 F-150 XLT FX-4, EXT cab, 97k miles, magnaflow exhaust, and 33'' tires.

First problem, When accelerating there is a clunk (distinctive and loud, dosen't matter what speed unless its over 60 MPH). It also clunks when I come to a complete stop. Don't know if its a universal, clutch pack, torque converter, motor mount, tranny mount, or flux hotagator. duration- 5 months

Second problem, there is a constant ratteling when ideling or accelerating slowly. Sounds like a heat shield but I could be wrong. duration- 3 years,, never really bothered me just figured id ask.

Third..... I have a bad vibration between 39-42 MPH. Comes from the rear of the truck. I think it might be an unproperly balanced tire. Not to sure. duration-7 months now

Thanks for any help!

I get a clunk any time i jar the gas or whenever it shifts, idfk what it is, my rear u joints are new. my front U joints are bad, think that'd be clanking around? its distinctively loud like you speak of, I can hear it if I hammer it at 60 or jar it at 10 or just taking off half throttle. the rattle is the heat shields on the cats, the edges rot off, just pry the edges up with a flathead screwdriver and grab them with some vice grips or channel locks (what I used) and rip them right off of there. no more rattling, I love it..

The clunk I'd say is the driveshaft yoke, where it slides on the splines on the output shaft. Teflon greaseing it solves that unless it is a u-joint. Your vibration might be the u-joint as well so problem 1&3 might be one in the same. Rattling cound be heat shield that's rotting, rotting cat or the aftermarket exhaust needs tightening or repositioning plus tightening so it doesn't vibrate anymore. I just went through that on mine, basically reassembled from scratch and tightened well. Also joining the old to new is a brand new stainless band clamp instead of the old regular clamps. This helped front to back movement and made a nice tight seal.

If you have an LS rear diff, you might be due for a fluid change with some new friction modifier. Can cause vibrations at certain speeds.

^^^^There was a TSB on that clunk, just as you described with greasing the splines.

Couldn't find the TSB either. There was only 4 TSB's and it was all engine stuff.
