01 Exhaust

As most yall know our year model has 4 cats so that makes the exhaust quieter.
Does anyone have any suggestions on an 01 exhaust with out messing with the stock cats?

What motor do you have? That will greatly determine what suggestions we give you as far as brand, full cat-back, or just replacing the muffler.

You can always do high flow cats no matter what engine to have.

I have an 02 5.4 that I put dual Flowmaster Super 45's on and it sounds nice, not too loud but you can still hear the power. i used to have glasspacks on it but as I grew up I realized that stupid loud is not fun all of the time (especially job interviews) got better gas mileage, and more torque with the Flowmaster

I don't have mufflers. That's what I suggest. Haha!

Go to the exhaust section there are a ton of videos of different setups there. There was a whole thread full of them.

I have a 5.4 and i put on a 14 inch oval magnaflow and it was just too quiet for my likeing. You can tell it is there when you are around 2000 rpms but thats it. Ive heard the magnapacks are louder. Any experience with them?

Try some dynomax bullets or maganpacks. You could also cut out the rear cats and replace them with Magnaflow 94106. I did this and it woke the 18" up, but I'll be switching to a 14" magnflow oval soon.

Did you repace just the rear cats with these or all four cats?

I've read that most people replace just the rear cats. I am planning on buying 2 14" Magnaflow Mufflers, two 94106 High Flow Cats and then put on 4"X18" tips bent behind the back tires. I've listened to tons of exhaust sytems on youtube and the magnaflow, imo, has the better sound as it is deep and doesn't crackle and sound like there's something wrong with the engine at full throttle. I suggest hitting up youtube for a few hours and get an idea of what different systems sound like and what you like personally. If you don't mess with the cats, your choices are down to shorter (in length) mufflers, no mufflers, or maybe bigger tips. Good Luck!!
