You can mount your compressor any way you want, don't have oil in them so your fine. I put mine in a cheap tool box from Auto Zone, paid I think $40. Don't want my high doller compressor eating dirt and water. Stays nice and clean and is all in one place for working on.

My friend has got his under his truck, no probs yet. But he don't off road or anything like that. Just keep a eye on the filter, dirt will kill it.

So you want tank and compressor under truck??

you arent supposed to mount compressors upside down. right side up, and on the side is fine, but the heat sink is designed to let the heat rise off the top, so its its upside down, it just absorbs back into the compressor, thus shortening its life.

ive got my compressor mounted right side up in the corner of my bed, next to my tank. my horns are right under the under the bed, just behind the cab.
