Unhappy engine ticking, please help

I have a ticking sound in my engine. I have a 1999 4.6L V8. While the engine is running, I disconect plug wire #7 and the ticking goes away. after I plug that back in, I unplug wire # 4 and again the sound goes away. What could be wrong that by unplugging these two plugs one at time, the problem stops? I ran a diagnostic test and it came up P1504. this doesnt make sense

I solved the problem. I feel like a jack a##. Been stressing all day. The end of the spark plug wire was not seated all the way, and the clicking I was hearing was the firing in between the gap.

Good deal. Just make sure that was it. Sometimes, guys hear a ticking just before a sparkplug blows out. It slowly backs out and it is exhaust noise when it fires.
