Anybody install a double DIN head unit in a 2003 SuperCrew? I'm looking at the Pioneer AVIC D3 for my truck and it's double din. I have an aftermarket headunit now and has the small opening on top the radio, but not sure if the opening is a full double din.

 

you will have to trim a small part of the dash to fit a double din. not that hard though, i say go for it.

 

There is a thread on here somewhere with a detailed explanation with pics of a successful and good looking installation. There was a good bit of trimming if I recall, but it was certainly a project that can be done with average skills

Did it to my 2000 F150 and only had to trim just a bit on the dash above the radio

 

yeah, let's see those pictures.

 

Post up some photos if you end up tackling the job. I'm getting ready to do the same once I decide on a HU.

 

i installed that avic d3 in my truck it was a piece of cake..

 

put one in my truck...not too bad to install...
