Why would it be? All depends on maintenance and wear and tear. A 33 inch tire isnt going to do much, it is a half ton. I ran a 37x13 on a 6" lift on stock gears with 160k and never had an issue with the tranny. Yah I could have used some gears to get some pow back in the truck but overall I don't think it affected the way the tranny was. Some may say different but Im pretty sure just running 33's on stock gears is doing nothing to your tranny.

i did the same thing and trust me I DRIVE HARD.. didnt do a damn thing to the trans.. its all about maintenance like toyz mentioned.. the people u have been talking to are hittin the bottle a lil too hard..and technically it would PUT a bigger load on your trans.. not take it off

no

i was talkin about a 4.11 gear, it would take more load off,and bring alot of lost power back because of the bigger tires vs stock gears, you see where im comeing from? a buch of guys on other truck forums and this forum were tellin me about how haveing 4.11s and 35' tires is badass, and it is a good way to lay down more torque

4.10? 4.11? 4.30? or 4.56??

Is your truck 4x4 or 4x2? If its 4x4 you can eliminate 4.30's as an option cause they don't make a reverse cut gear for the 8.8r in the front of the 4x4.

If you are on the interstate a lot then go with 4.10's. If you tow alot and/or drive back roads go with 4.56's.

If you plan to go up to 37-38" tires in the future go with 4.88's

the 4.10's will extend the life of your trans, bring your mileage back up a lil' bit

what are your future plans? larger tires or are you staying the same? that's something you need to consider when regearing, because it's not cheap
