My rear end started slippin other day , so i called a wrecker to come get it and take it to the house cuz i didnt wanna drive it and tear it up even more. When i got it home i pulled the cover and found 2 of the spider gears had a 2 or 3 teeth right beside each other chipped.......so i called the local Ford dealer and told them i needed some spider gears for a 99 f150 with a 8.8 LS with a 3.55 gear , he said ok they will be here tomorrow. So the next day i went to pick them up and they looked nothin like my old ones. So i went back home and got my old ones and took them to the dealer and he said oh you a have a lockin 9.75 , i said naw i dont , he said yea thats what them are and the mechanic said the same thang..... i said ok whatever , so he ordered the ones he thought was rite ....... so today when he called he said your right it was a 8.8 LS . i said i tried to tell you......so he ordered the right ones today hopefully. There suppose to be here monday thank god. I miss drivin my truck ......

What could have caused just the 2 smaller gears to chip just a couple of teeth all right beside each other?
