Backup Camera

Has anybody changed out the rear view mirror to one with the video display for a backup camera?

My truck is a '03 F150 Screw FX4 and I've been eyeing the little backup camera kits. Only thing is I don't want a separate monitor, I'd like it to be in the rear view mirror.

I can't help you with a direct answer but i have wondered how those work. I am expecting delivery on my Back up camera kit from Crutcfield today. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_220ACA2...ailed_info#Tab

Its an Audiovox and it has a separate monitor and I am struggling where to install the monitor. I have a pretty full dash as it is. And I don't really want anything else on the dash. The curve of the dash is also making it hard to decide on how to position another device on it. Truck is a 2003 SCREW by the way.

So I did consider the units with the mirror monitor but the price was more than I wanted to spring for. If I figure out a place that I am going to finally place the monitor I will take pics and post. Main reason I chose this unit is the Wireless transmission and Crutchfiles great support if I get in a bind or am dissatisfied. If you end up getting the mirror monitor please post on how satisfied you are with it.

Been wanting to add a mirror LCD for a while now. As soon as I find one that acts like a regular mirror but powers the screen on when I put it in reverse Im getting one. MOst screens I have seen just stay on so there would be a blue screen when not in reverse.
