We're going for day 3 of consecutive drives to work and back! no shimmy's no shakes, I have a little bit of "play" feel to the tie-rod I installed, gonna have to look into that see if something settled.

I do keep getting a low growl on left turns, I fear its the hub but so far it looks like the tire rubs the leafs.

 

I firgured you would have some rubbing issues with the leaf springs. IF/ when you look for new wheels try to find something with less back spacing. 2.5" is what I HAD now im looking for something with 2". I doubt you wanna go that wide so id say a set of 16x10 with 3" of back spacing should kill your rubbing issue. Thats figuring that the wheels you have now are 4.5" of back spacing.

look great. I thought you rebuilt the axles?

 

I'm not sure what the BS on these wheels are, theyre the ones that were on my dads f250 when they bought it in 2000. You're probably right about 4.5" They just barely rub, less than 1/8" on the leafs.

Not rebuilt yet, I cleaned them up and saved the money I'd need for gears to buy shocks. 3.73's are OK right now, still smokes them like its nobody's business. Front axle has fresh ball joints is about it.

You got off fairly cheap, that's honestly not a bad price.

Sounds cheap to you but you've done yours twice. This took most of my income tax return and some saving.

It did turn out very clean, rides pretty damn nice for being on fresh springs. I'm thinking about making a rear lift block, and taking 1 leaf out to see if it changes the ride quality on small bumps but not sure if its a bad idea?

 

well my first one was 4k but this one will be around 6K if I add the motor im looking at 8k

Even the average if you were to ask Jesse what he would set aside he would tell you 5-7K if you do it yourself.

 

I got lucky, I didnt have to pay full out on calipers, or overhaul the carrier/pinion bearings. outer wheel bearings never break 120 yet. Rotors stay cool to the touch (not hauling obviously). This is how ford should'a done these trucks.

 

Truck is officially named Stitches now.

 

Oh I forgot, ya'll aint seen the bumper back on yet.
