FX4 vs offroad package ???

What are the differences suspension-wise between a truck with the FX4 package vs the offroad package? Does the body of the truck sit-up higher, or is it mainly just better shocks?

I own a 1999 f150 Lariat super-cab with the offroad package. I see guy's with FX4's list their mods, and was just wondering if the stock FX4 and mine had the same clearance.

well my dads 02 fx4 is pretty similar two my 97 4x4 off road.... the o2 did come with rancho shocks and the 97 didnt. . . both of ours came with 17 inch wheels with 265/70 tires. as best i can tell they should be the same package... for the most part just a different sticker.lol now when you get to the new ones (i just built a 2010 online for fun) that is where you start getting goodies with the fx4 package. 373 electronic lockers, good shocks, 5.4 standard, and extended cab. along with a few other little goodies.lol

Rancho Shocks valved to Ford specs, not really a true Rancho shock. I do believe the FX4s had 1 more skid plate underneath.

I think its just the sticker and shocks. My 2000 Off road and my father in laws 2002 FX4 have the same skid plates under them. And they have a different style of 17 inch rims on each one.

From what I know all FX4's got skid plates, and they were an option on the off-road package.

But I could be wrong...

RIght, it's just decals and the shocks are painted differently. Same ride height, same size tires and wheels (different design though).

Just as everyone said, Shocks, skids, and wheels. There might be some other things that were standard, that you could option another F150, but nothing major.

I think Ford just put it out as an answer to the Z71 package.
