Hurculiner??

Has anyone done the Hurculiner bed liner or simmilar products in thier bed? The paint in my bed is in pretty rough condition and I would love to cover it up. I don't want to put in a plastic bed liner, or PTM with rattlecans. Just wondering if anyone has used Hurculiner or simmilar, what I call over the counter products, and what kind of luck they have had with it.

Thanks

Herculiner:My opinion

EJ6464,
I used the herculiner years ago, and it was a PITA To do. It looked good for about 9 months, then the liner started to fade, and when you rubbed against it, it would turn whatever it touched black, kind of like soot. and it would chip up, and looked like crap after 2 years. I would recommend saving the money for a commercial brand spray in liner.

Ive had herculiner in my bed for over 2 years and it looks good, scratched up alittle but my bed gets abused. I used the roll on stuff went really thick, probably 2-3k thicker then they say to do. Then i went and sprayed the can stuff over it to give it a better look.

If you have problems with black comming off or chipping then your prep wasnt good enough, I sanded my bed down to bare metal.

As I write this my Screw is at the LineX dealer. At $480 and a lifetime warranty at any LineX dealer in the country I don't think you can beat it. My Brother in law has had two trucks done and loved it so that's good enough for me.

Lifetime "WARRENTY"...I will take it back if necessary. You get what you pay for. I would rather pay more and get quality than go cheap and whine about looks in a month. I have heard of RHINO liner chipping but no one around my area has complained and I know a large number of truck owners in the area and the ones with the LineX from this dealer have all been "VERY" satisfied. Its an individual choice of course but I will go quality over price anytime.

Theres a few places around the NW here, one in particular. Xtreme lining... They do A LOT of commercial work, boats, huge commercial fleets, heavy equipment.. etc. Their stuff is the toughest out there if you ask me. My brother in law just had his bed up to rails and inside gate done for 300, was originaly 350 but got a 50 dollar discount. looked amazing. And you can get it in just about any color.

Have you thought about the possiblity of installing the BedRug? It's under $400 and just as tough, waterproof too! Resistant to all chemicals, even bleach, oil, whatever you throw at it. I thought about installing it myself. Just something else to look at.

I am doing the Herculiner right now! I will let you know the outcome of it. I have the bed all sanded up and just got done washing it waiting for it to dry so I can start putting it on.

I've thought about a bed rug, but I'd rather go with something more "permanent" I guess. Sounds like there are people who have had luck with it and not. I've got a couple things to consider it sounds like. A couple of my considerations are going to be that it will be under the topper for probably 90% of the time. I also have a rubber mat that I will keep in the truck too. (FYI: That rubber mat is the greatest! Stops crap from sliding around in the back really well! Just thought I'd pass that on as a recommendation) However the prep sounds like a TON of work. How have you guys who have done it sanded down your beds real good?

I used my orbital sander with 800 grit discs. And a Red 3M pad for the hard to get spots. It worked pretty good total time I think was (in between beers and getting food and kids) about 2.5hours

I am pleased with how my LineX turned out and its tough.

$480 out the door. I was willing to pay that. And of course it has the obligatory yellow pine pollen the Carolina's are famous for.
