Not a big deal, but it has me wondering...

So the last few days I have heard a rubbing/dragging noise coming from my front left wheel (you could only hear it with the windows down, in low noise areas), I finally got time to look at it tonight, and didnt see anything after visual inspection. I went ahead and pulled the brakes, thinking maybe the pads? Well they had plenty left on them, but there was an outrageous amount of brake dust buildup.

I cleaned all the dust out, reassembled, and took it out for a good 20 minute drive, and the noise was gone.

What would cause this? And is there anything to worry about? Anything need fixed?

I have that same noise from the left front but only when getting on an onramp on the freeway when the weight of the truck is all on the driver's side. I have checked the pads and they look good, so I guess I will try to take them apart and clean them...

It was really weird. Like I said it went away after cleaning all the brake dust out. So im just not sure what caused that.

Well so long as the problem stopped, I would say that's good. I am not really sure what it is on my truck, havent had a day off to look at it. (had all day off today and it poured rain all day) I hope that it is just brake dust for me too, however I know I am about due for new rotors/pads/fluid so I might just do it all and upgrade to slotted rotors.
