87 Plow Will fit on 97 150??

I have an oportunity to pick up a plow
that was on an 87 F150. Would the
frame fit on a 97 F150 or would
I need a lot of modifications?

Thanks

i am relatively certain that the frames on the two trucks are completely different and you would be better off to just by a truckside mount that fits your truck. you should give this sight i try. they have lots of great info and remember the search button is your friend.

x2. I run a plow on my 98, and unless you intend to spend a lot of time cutting, welding, modifying, etc etc etc... just buy a mount specified to your truck.

Your best bet would be to find someone that can either modify or built a new mount for that plow to fit your truck. Being that the same frame and cab was used from 80-96, your change of going from an 87 to a 97 would be similar to ours when we bought a plow from a 73-87 Chev to put on our 89 Chev (new design, IFS instead of solid axle, etc). My dad knew a guy that modifies plow mounts and he was able to build one for that plow to mount on our 89.
