What is involved in rear window swap

Was walking out to the parking lot where my truck was parked at school, and as i got near my truck i noticed security cars around my truck and a guy in handcuffs. What the guy did was break the clip on my rear sliding window and slid it open and got himself into my truck and almost got away with $2000 dollars worth of audio stuff. My question is what is involved in switching out the whole rear window to a solid rear window. I have a window already i just want to know if i should take it on by myslef?

i hear it's not too bad, but very time comsuming. all the bolts to access everything is on the inside. so you have to take off the interior trim panels in order to access the bolts. then just unbolt everything around. have someone else outside & push everything out. i have a power sliding rear window im going to try to attempt to tackle. but the local glass shop said they would charge me $150 to install it, but i would have to do all the wiring myself. so im not sure what im going to do.

glad to hear you were able to catch the *** & nothing was missing.

I just swapped out the rear window on my '99 ... it's not too bad. There are a couple good write-ups on it (by Rockpick and 1clean42), which helped me a lot. I used 3/8" butyl sealant (approx $15 at Kragens), to seal the window. It took me approx 3 hrs to remove and replace the window, and I was taking my time. Good luck on however you chose to proceed.
