trans or shifter vibration

it's a 2000 f150 with the 4.2L v6, 2WD and the M5OD trans. just had the trans out for clutch work, now that it's back in, there's an odd vibration, sounds like a loose bearing, coming out of the shifter, i think, on low speed acceleration, such as shifting up through the gears in traffic from a stop light.
the work is guaranteed for 6 months, but i've about had it with these guys - if i do go back to them, i'd like to give them some guidance; so i was hoping someone here has a thought, maybe even some experience with this - I have heard this kind of noise in older trucks in my past, but can't remember what came of it.

what do you guys think?

my thought is that when they put the trans back in, they might not have got the fit exactly correct- maybe the shifter mechanism itself is rubbing on the floor of the cab, or something like that?

thanks
joe

Mine has ALWAYS buzzed to some degree. If they had the tranny out, check the fluid. The tranny has to be rotated 90 degrees to get it in and out, and you are supposed to drain it before removal. They may have forgotten to refill it. They may have pulled it without draining it, put it back in, and neglected to check/refill the fluid.

i talked to them after they were done, because i had synth in it and i wanted to make did sure they had not used regular. the mech who did the work said he stayed with the synth for the little bit he lost - i.e., he did not drain it... for what it's worth, the fluid was changed the week before this work.

i have noticed that exact noise in other trucks, but this one wasn't making it before it went in.
