hehe. if you wanted to go fast, you should have gotten a mustang!! well for starters, 4x2 or 4x4? and is a v6 (4.2) or v8 (4.6)? first thing you need to know is that you have a HEAVY truck. the second thing you need to know is that depending on what engine you have there isnt much you can do unless you really like spending money. first thing you need to do is make sure all of the fluids have been done, or do them and its a good idea to us synthetic. im talkin everything. engine, trany, and differential. then how many miles are on it? it may be time for new plugs, STICK WITH MOTORCRAFT HERE and do your plug wires too. then you can do the Gots intake mod (do a search) and maybe a intake silencer removal. then some long tube headers and high flow cats and an xpipe exhaust. then remove the stock cooling fan and replace with an electric set up. after all of this do something like troyer performance chip customed tuned for your upgrades. there are other little things you can do but all of the gains are minimal.

stay away from throttle body spacers.. all they do is make noise. i like the high flow filters like k&n but others say the paper filters are just fine. that one is up to you. but dont get a "cold air intake" they are trash and suck hot air from the engine.

you refer to your truck as a car?? i think you mean V8 4.6

well if what you want to do is win races then sell the truck and get you a car

to make the truck faster tune it, gear it, e fans, intake, exhaust..

its a truck, and unless you want to do forced induction with a tune and gears (depending what you have now) its gonna cost you a pretty penny.

just make the thing look like a beast and laugh when people want to race cuz its dumb.

welcome to the site btw

Welcome to the site. Hope you enjoy owning a Ford truck. There's a whole lot more to owning a vehicle than racing. The occasional sprint from stoplight to stoplight can be fun though.

Agreed that you should have bought a car. If it is a v6 then you shoulda bought a v8. Finally racing is not worth it, trust someone who has gotten busted for street racing, the ticket aint worth the fun.

Yeah.... beef it up, make it look bad ***, and to hell with racing. Racing just gets you in trouble with the fine law enforecement personnel of your area!

Yeah if you wanted a fast truck should have got the lightning or somethin. But my truck wins races. My racetrack consists of long slippery sandy washes, big rocks and narley dirt roads. Lifted 4x4 FTW!

How much money you have to spend on going fast will determine how fast you go. As was previously asked we really need to know which engine you have. Is it a 4.2V or a 4.6V8? Is your truck a 4x4? The more you tell us the easier it is to make suggestions.
