How hard will this be?????

OK well one of my friends dad has a wrecked 99. its a single cab short bed with a 5.4 4wd. i think i can get it for around $500. but the problem. he slide it off the road a couple years ago and down a bank and hit the top front passegner side of the cab, so it needs a door cab and front fender. but he had it checked for frame damage and it has none.

How hard is it going to be to swap a cab onto it?

I would think just to take off fenders, unplug wiring harness at firewall. cab body bolts, steering linkage and the other little stuff of the like. Probably more time consuming than hard

You have alot of wiring on the cab fire wall to unhook, heater core lines, probley some ac lines too, Speed O cable, shifting linkage.

99 is PATS so it should have electronic speedo, no cable.

not too hard, you'll need to pull the interior to access the cab bolts since they go down through the floor into the frame.

thats what i was thinking im hoping to find a stripped can at the junk yard so im going to have to swap the whole interior over anyway but i think it will be worth it in the long run.

also is there anyway to make it a center console shift like the newer trucks?

there isnt a direct bolt in swap like the 04-08 trucks have since none of our 97-03 trucks had that as a factory option, well unless you had the manual 5spd

B&N has a shifter for the Mustang AOD-E which became the 4R70W. I would contact them to see if it could be used on your truck.
