Body lift advice
Im about to throw on a 3" bodylift on my truck to accomidate my new tires and was reading the instructions and I was getting overwelmed with some of the stuff need to do before it can be installed. Is there any corners to be cut when installing a 3" bodylift. Like cut some corners on disconnecting simple stuff like do I really have to drain the water out and disconnect the radiator hoses or unclamp the airfilter. Little stuff like that I guess im just wonderin if you have to follow the instructions all the way through
Yes, absolutely follow all of the instructions. Go slow! Especially when actually lifting the body off of the frame. Look for tight wires and disconnect them properly in order to not eff anything up.
Yep. Follow all the directions, and its gonna take awhile. Its worth it in the end. Also, depending on your truck there may be things you do not need to do but you will understand when you get to them. Good Luck!
I was a little overwelmed my first time to! It's not that hard but take your time. Check off thing as you do them in the instruction so your not thinking did I do that or not? It took me two day to complett mine. It's not a race to the finish; Remember you have to drive it later SAFETY FIRST!
Don't get overwhelmed ... large projects are completed one small step at a time (I often do 3-4 yr construction projects at work ... that first day looking at plans 2'' thick and specs 3" thick can be a little intimidating
). Take your time and you will be successful

Agreed. The radiator doesn't have to be drained. That is about the only step you can "short cut" on the body lift. The purpose of draining the radiator is so you can get the fan shround out to cut the tabs allowing it to raise up 3". In actuality, you can cut the tabs with the raditator still attached. I recommend tin snips. The space is confined, but you should have enough room to get your hands in there.
Also, I have installed two body lifts, one on a 00 Scab and a 2003 Screw. Both were realtively the same install. If you click on the green circle next to my name and visit my homepage, you can see pics of the entire process. I would post the link but I am getting an error message saying the service is unavailable. I'll try to edit this post later and put in on here for you.
