Post no power mirror adjustment

2002 F150 pwr mirror quit adjusting. Checked fuse in panel, Ok. Someone manually moved the mirror, it worked for a few times but then stopped.

i to have power mirror issues. i used a ohm meter/ multi tester /whatever you want to call it and i seem to have power to the driver mirror, but the mirror wont move at all. i havent been able to test the passenger mirror, but it doesnt work either. what are the chances of both motors going bad at the same time? oh the mirrors didnt work when i got the truck, so they may not have quit at the same time. Thanks!

Like John mentioned above, it's the switch on your door panel that is bad, very common issue that is a cheap fix. Mine is actually bad as well, I've just been too lazy to replace the switch.

is it possible to get power to the mirror with a bad switch? i didnt think this was possible which is why i havent replaced it yet. or is it that the switch is bad, but still lets some juice through to the mirror just enough for the meter to read it?

I'm not an electrical engineer, and I've been wrong before, but I'm going to say yes, you can still get power to the mirrors with the bad switch. I've read that some people have taken apart the switch itself and cleaned it up a bit and their mirrors began to operate. However, I would just replace the switch and call it a day. Good luck with getting it figured out and fixed.

yes, I believe the switch is the same on all 97-03 F150's. That's great that your dad has one available to you for testing it out. Hopefully that's all it is.

x2 i deffinately dont want to have to shell out for new mirror motors, or have to chase down a more serious problem
