Is the replacement of the fuel pump on a 2001 F150 a job that should be left to the professionals, or one that a shade tree type can handle. What is the average price this repair might cost ?

 

the pump will run you about $110.00 @ auto zone i think ford will charge you around $700.00 plus for the repair. you will need a fuel line disconnect tool $10.00 they have cheapers ones @ auto zone. if you do it yourself i would take the 6 bolts out of the bed and rase it dump truck style and support it with 2x4s. i am haveing hell with changeing my fuel pump right now i droped the tank on mine and rased the rear end but still cant get all the lines off the tank and drop it down far enough without stressing the fuel lines not enough room for my big *** i guess good luck.
