Finally Setting up my truck

Ok heres my truck a 97 4x4 supercab lariat with almost 100k miles.

I recently picked up these american racing baja 16x8 0 offset wheels.

I have also got a 3'' performance accessories body lift arriving this week, I want to go with 285/75/16 tires. So I am starting this thread to get everyones input and also to post pictures along the way and when I am finished. If anyone is willing to do a photoshop of the future that would be great, I am currently undecided on whether I want to paint or powdercoat my polished aluminum wheels black or leave as is. So what do you guys think? Anything Im overlooking? Im thinking I will need to cut off my magnaflow exhaust tip because it will be too low, Also I want to get some stepbars to help hide the frame.

That's a really clean truck, good start. Those are the same wheels I have...because you still have the chrome bumpers and chrome backed headlights I would leave the wheels the way they are. But it depends on what you want to do eventually..keep some things chrome or black some stuff out?

Powdercoat the wheels black... they would match ALOT better.

Pick a bigger tire you need 315/75/16's (35x12.5) or you could look for a wider 33" tire something like 33x13r16

ill get a picture of my truck with 3" body lift and 285/75/16's

Thanks for the feedback guys that's what I'm looking for. Trimble I would lke 35's but I thought I should regear from my 3:55 for them? Stock tire size in my door jamb is 255/70/16 which is what I have now.

i ran the 36's with stock 3.55's and a 4.2L

it was a DOG but ok. Its not mandatory to regear with 35's i recommend it but you can get away without.

Im wondering if I could get away painting the wheels myself because really I Think I want em black. Maybe a 305/70/16 would be better than 285/75/16 I think I'll look for pics, I dont think going taller than 33 is going to be the best for me, Gas is even more expensive in Canada.

Trimble I couldnt find any information on plastiwrap anywhere I dont know. So my body lift arrived the other day, I bought it from ebay for $120 total brand new unopened! Should be going on soon, I have read that you do not have to remove the radiator when installing this kit but was hoping someone could explain this a bit.

also since the bottom of your truck is black already maybe look into lining your bumpers. and id also do 305"s

Jake are your wheels aluminum? How are you going to paint them? Using the how to article on this site? I would love to Rhino liner my bumpers, on trucks tv they had a real good method of painting chrome might do that instead.

they are eagle alloys so what ever material they are idk for sure but i do know they arent chrome

to paint them im gonna use some duplicolor adhesion promoter (after scuffing them up) and then krylon fusion satin black and then clear, using the article you mentioned.
