Check the tie rod ends for play as well as the sway bar bushings, pitman arm and idler arm.

I wish I could go 296k on my '07 Jeep Compass without suspension issues. Got a great motor and transmission, but suspension goes to junk after 20-30k, depending on my aggressiveness. lol

I don't think I even know anybody who has had one go 100,000 without something important breaking.

I hope I own one like that before I die...but time is running out.

'02 5.4 4x4 4r70w 265K only FAILS have been the tranny back around 160K (IIRC) I built it (with some members input here ) rear axle, front axle ...then the usual ball joints, starter, alt....but most things have been simple to fix ...oh and the drivers seat cover is toast.

Mine had a little over 400,000 when the oil pump went and I am finishing up an engine change as I write this (1999 f150 4x4 5.4 2v PI engine). Now mind you I have changed a lot of the stuff bolted to the engine one time or two as it stays in the mud, sand and all that stuff.
Ford oil pump will go with a bounce of the oil pressure gauge and it is over for the engine. Bad part was a friend and I had just talked about it at his house and on the way home it went. No warning at all but one bounce of the oil pressure gauge and before you can shut it off the crank and bearings have locked.

02 f150

I have an 02 f150 5.4l with 327,000 and it's my daily ride. No major issues with it other than I have to turn off the overdrive when driving anywhere (anyone know why) waiting on a few basic parts now, fuel filter, coil pack, plugs and MAF sensor. Should run great after everything is done.

I have 245,000 on my 99 with 4.6W motor, original motor and tranny. No repairs except a ball joint job and an alternator. I drive like an old man, use Castrol or Valvoline oil. Planning to run it to the end. I do think the fuel pump is getting weak, have to prime it 3 times when warm starting after sitting a while.
