had my spark plugs changed today at 114,000 miles

I just got back from getting my spark plugs and fuel filter changed at 114,000 miles..the plugs looked pretty toasted and the gaps were huge! I was wondering is there an adjustment period for the computer when going from worn plugs to new plugs? It seems every time I start the motor it skips slightly, and it just did that occasionally before the new plugs. I also cleaned the mass-air meter with mass-air meter cleaner, but I haven't started the motor since I cleaned the mass-air meter. I'm hoping to pick up another mile-per-gallon or two with the new plugs, I topped off the gas and zeroed the odometer lol, time will tell.

Well I started it up after cleaning the mass-air meter and it was smooth. I cleaned the throttle body after that and you weren't kidding 00f150lariat, it was pretty filthy. The real mess is past the throttle body butterfly, but I don't want to clean the whole motor lol. It started up smooth the few times it started after that. I wanted to see if I could notice a horsepower increase with the new plugs, so I hit the gas at about 30 and it started to go sideways so I let off..darn salt on the roads..I guess I'll have to wait till the weather is nice to see if there's a difference.

When i clean my throttle body I take it off and scrub it real good. Use wire pipe cleaner on it and all. I also replaced my IAC when I did it. Truck ran much better..

I cleaned it very well, it's still dirty past the butterfly..I opened the butterfly and cleaned what I could reach. I think it's more responsive now, but I'm not sure if that's just because of the new plugs. I'm itching to see if my gas mileage improved..I'm guessing it would have to by the condition of the old plugs..I was averaging 13 or 14 miles per gallon.

Dont be surprised if the gas mileage dosent improve much. I've done it all and I still get 13-14 combined mpg.

Yeah it is a big hog. The thought of the elbow past the butterfly being so dirty was eating at me, so I took the throttle body off and cleaned it..dirt was caked on it much worse than the throttle body. The throttle response is much better and it feels like it has more of those nice hp's..maybe I'll wait 'till the next tank full to try for good miles per gallon.

It will give you more power cleaning it like that. Dont have high expectaation for incressed MPG though. Makes it run better though. I do my throttle body once a year now.
