Red face 2003 fog light

Ok I have an 03 F-150 XLT that has now fog light on the lower Valance, am planning to install a new lower valance with fog lights, it looks like the one for FX4, my question is, where can I get a power source for it, my plan was tapping it to my park lights so it will light up when I turn it on, but I was afraid to burn the wires, also I was planning to install HID in them... need your guys help

i think your truck may be prewired for fogs. i know this has been the case on some trucks here specifically dirtyd88.

you could run your neg wire to a ground and run you positive to a switch inside the truck and then to your pos on your battery, thats what i did, made a little switch under the steering wheel, looks like it was made that way

Your truck will be prewired for it. The connectors are below the headlights. There may be some side marker wires also. I put a oem switch for fogs. But you can find a power source, use a switch and tap into the orange wire, I believe, off the light switch. Truck should have all the relays so it'll be a plug and play.

Yes. Plugs right in. Takes about 5 mins.

If you use a separate switch you will need to splice into the orange wire. This way you can have the fogs on whenever you want.

Sorry to Jack the thread but this migh be some pertinent info to your situation. I have a 98 xlt with no fog lights. I ran some walmart lights to a switch like some others who have posted here but now I want to power them with the headlight switch. The switch pulls out like i am turning the fog lights on. Does this mean I can use the current headlight switch or will I need to get a new one. I understand I might need to get a relay but illworry about that later. Sorry to thread Jack but hopefully this will help you out. And good luck to you man!

No you will need the switch. It pulls out to be able to remove the switch not to power fogs.

That's it, I gotta do this mod soon. I did see the wires when I was under the truck the other day changing the oil. How much is the OEM switch? I got a price of $120 I think for the OEM 4x4 lower valance.

Check with Tasca parts. Might be able to find it cheaper, or check a junkyard.
