Hey guys, im new to this forum seems like a great place for info, currently have a 2001 extended cab XLT in Vancouver here, just started thinking about adding some stuff to it, it's pretty much stock at the moment, just have a few questions regarding generational compatabilty?

i was wondering if the newer 04+ rims will fit on an 01? or is the bolt pattern different? like these:



sorry to the guy who's truck this is in his sig lol but i like these rims

secondly, currently my truck has the typical XLT cloth bench seat in the front with the fold down arm rest

what are my options for upgrading my seats? the lariat models have the captain chairs correct? will they bolt right in?

thirdly 2 lighting questions - 1) do the lightning projector style headlights bolt right in and are plug and play with normal F150's?

2) does anyone know a good supplier for clear lower fog lenses? i dont want to get HID headlights but wouldnt mind getting HID fog lights, and figure a clear lense is better than the typical stock lense?

any input is very much appreciated, very exicted in modding my truck after driving my civic for the past 4 years

 

You have a 5x135 and the 04's and up have a 6x135 bolt pattern

 

i dont have projecter headlights but i did some research on them you have to do a little modification with the wiring. im sure there is some posts on here about that.i used to have a 97 lariat and those were the most comfortable seats i have ever sat in. not just in a vehicle either i mean in general.

 

please again excuse me owner of this picture, but what type of headlights are these then? are these stock lighting or aftermarket?

 

those are stock lightning headlights on the lightning. and black replicas on the f150

 

to answer your questions.

1. the rims from the 04+ will not fit due to a six lug pattern instead of the 5 lug on your truck.

2. the captains chairs will bolt in but you will need to tap one hole thats already in the floor or you can cut down your passenger seat and add an expy console.

3. there is a difference between lightning headlights/replicas and lightning projector headlights. the first are an oem fit and will go right into your truck, the projectors will require some modification due to the separate high and low beam bulbs. id recommend getting a set of lightning replica headlights (or oem ones if you can find/afford them) like the ones in on the regular cab in the pic you posted.

4. most people here just go with some clear fogs off ebay from a company called depo. also if your interested in hid fogs i am selling a set that will fit your truck that are brand new and never installed. just let me know
