Short bed box 97-03

Quick question.
Are the short bed boxes for the 97-03 all the same size?
I ask bcz I'm trying to help my brother find a used topper for his 03 and I found a good deal on a topper a guy had on his 98.
Thanks in advance!

as long as the topper is coming off a styleside and going onto a styleside, or coming off a flareside and going onto a flareside.

then yeah, any 97-03 (or even 04 heritage) would work

Also, the styleside is available in a shortbed and longbed version. And, the Supercrew bed is completely different.

There were no Supercrews in 1998. No go. The only topper that's gonna fit his 03 Supercrew is one off a Supercrew.

On another topic...

If we are talking fiberglass caps made for the '97 thru ''03 bodystyle, the truck cab also comes into play.
The regular cab has more 'rake' than the supercab.

So, after you determine the bed lengths are the same and the bed types are the same...
Used Supercab top onto Regular cab = YES (gap at top but at this age who cares)
Used Regular cab top onto Supercab = NO (cap will rub cab at top, paint, third brakelight etc...)

My bad....
I went to the first post in the Supercrew forum and it was Feb 2000.

That makes it even easier for the OP, tighter grouping, smaller window, less room for error.

but also makes it harder because they only made the bed for 3 years, so used parts are hard to come by

Well, I meant easier as far as isolating a truck cap.

Craiglist ads are often VERY frustrating, 'For Sale Ford Camper Shell' with little info.
What year(s)?
What length?
Styleside/Flareside?
What Cab?

At least he knows if it's not '01-'03 just move on.
If it is '01' - '03' he could dig a little deeper.

After 6 years I would hope this has been resolved...........

Didn't you read the posting dates before you replied?

Raoul has the best answer in post #6, a regular cab topper will NOT fit right on a Supercab.
