Quick Question on Prices
Quick Question on Prices
Looking at a 2001 F150 locally. I don't know much about trucks, just need one to haul stuff around.
So here are the specs that I know.
2001 F150 XLT
4DR EXT CAB
4x2
V6 4.2
160k Miles
And it says Sport. What exactly is the "Sport" Model?
Body is in fair shape, little dents, and could use some paint.
Interior is pretty clean, its cloth.
Approx value on that? I think I can get it for a pretty good deal, I just want to make sure.
Thanks!

painted to match bumpers
A "Sport" package has a 17" 10 spoke rim set rather than a 16" 5 spoke set on the XLT.
Basically add a paint to match metal front/rear bumpers (and bumper pads) and decals on the bed to my truck, and you have it....
Mine

Sport (but 2 doors short)

Forgot to add. The 4.2 is an excellent choice for a "haul stuff around town" motor.
Here are a few specs just to throw around in your head....

I would try to get him down around 3500(lowest)-4500(absolute most).
When I was still looking at trucks before I bought mine There was a white 1999 F150 sport 4x2 with v6 supercab with 111k and in really good condition and they wanted $9995 for it at the ford dealership in town:, I offered them seven and they said no way so I said it's your loss and two months later I drove by in my new truck and they had it ON SALE for $9500!
