i just picked one up and was wondering if i really have to drill through the bed to install it ? the one side looks like i might hit the gas tank. real nice! but i was wondering if thats how you do it and what precautions i can take to keep the bed from rusting or. could i make a bracket for it to mount to . and then mounting the bracket to the bed bolts. of course getting longer bed bolts


any help would be great
