I was curious if theres other steering wheels that can be used? i would like to add in the functionality of the later years steering wheel mounted accessory controls, without it looking like utter crap. would like the OEM look.

well i know very little of the 04-08 trucks, but i heard they are able to buy a "module" that will control aftermarket radios using the steering wheel controls. my thought was heading towards 04-08 steering wheel, with said module that i know nothing about.

 

yea i know they can use the factory controls on the radio which is cool but idk about swapping the steering wheel. you might check with ford to get a print out of the steering wheel diagram. they are an exploded assembly that shows all the parts and part numbers

 

Would definitely like to know more more info on this! Getting very sick and tired of looking at that sorry looking worn black steering wheel in a truck with a grey interior. My dad has it easy in his 02 (OEM Leather wrapped grey steering wheel). Also if nothing can be done what about the "fake" ford logo in center. Can you put in a real one or something?

 

see i hate this steering wheel because of the "spoke design" the 2 big chuny spokes irritate the crap out of me.. i want a steering wheel like the ones that come on the 94-04 mustangs.. those where always my fav.. i was however to score a steering wheel off of a 96-99 taurus.. has basically the same layout as teh mustang wheel.. im gonna see if it fits sometime this week..
