Hit the cruise and the gauges go haywire

when i go to engage the cruise control, some of my guages(speedometer, tach) start to go haywire and jump all over the place. now where i live, i like to use cruise. what can i do or is it busted for good. all of my previous vehicles had cruise and no problems. this one hasent worked since i got it.

97 F150 extended cab 4x4
4.6l V8
automatic

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont have the vin handy and im not sure if my truck will qualify. what is the site that i can go to find out. right now im in iraq but im getting ready for leave in about a week. like i said before, it has done this since i got it, and the cruise has never worked since i got it.

sounds like you need to get the recall done...


now it may not be free but you need to run the VIN when you get it, PM me and I'll get you the site to run it on...


also have whoever has the truck park it away from anything that might burn with it, and disconnect the battery and leave it alone, there was a big article on the news about the additional vehicles recalled
