new exhaust tips.

has anybody ever put like a 6 inch diameter tip on there dual exhaust? since i did the body lift, the pipes arent hugging the bumper like before, so i was thinking of putting a bigger tip on. like a 6 inch. but im curious as to how they sound, and if anybody has done it. and if anybody has any ideas for it. i have 18x3 inch tips. i was thinking of adding the bigger tip to my tips now. so if you have any ideas for me let me know!

I would go no bigger than a 4" outlet tip. 18" x 14" SS tips would look great. Maybe see if the pipes could be moved up more?

yeah i looked under there and they are welded right to the mounts. so i guess i could break the weld then re-weld it back up higher. but its hare cuz the frame and everything didnt move, just the rear bumper so it would have to go up about 3 inches, i will look again, the 6 inch tip was just a compramise to the gap. an easy fix i guess. haha ill look at raising them up cuz that might be easiest over all.

The hassle with getting mine raised 3 inches ended up with me getting dual turn-downs right before the axle. At first I was worried, but now I love it. Loud as all get out, and sets off car alarms all the time (thats just my taste). You are running no mufflers so I can tell you like loud too.

Like it was said.. Dont put 6" tips. I have heard 4" and the truck sounded awesome, but that guy had a whole set-up.

Yeah, 6" would just be ridiculous. Either get some tail pipes bent at a muffler shop for fairly cheap, or dump it.

yess the tone of the long tips on my truck is awsome, but i dont think it would be near the same if i dumped it. that would be awsome though. anybody have dump valves? where you could be running the duals out the back or even stock, and tyou have a trigger that opens a valve to just straight pipes? ive heard a vw r32 with dump valves and it was awsome!

I have heard of a couple guys over on the mustang forum with those things. haha, that would be sweet on a F150.

Personally I have mine SI/DO Flowmaster dumped at the rear axle, it's alright. I plan to replace the muffler with a Magnaflow and run a tip powder coated flat black out in front of the passanger rear tire.

Your problem is the slowmasters.
I am just kidding, and I have used flowmasters and they are great mufflers. However, if you want more noise then you need high flows or a different muffler. You probably have a 4 chamber where as I have dynaflow "air max's" which is a 2 chamber. Its alot louder.

Only bad thing is that the 2 chamber replaced loud with all that grow-lish tone that I had with the flowmasters

i wonder how hard it is to install those valves, or else like make a manual one with a little lever you could pull and it would just open the valve. like put the lever through the floor or the firewall somehow. that would be awsome!!
