Noob already asking for help.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to see how you might be able to help.

I have just purchased a 1999 F150 4X4 and have tried to tackle changing the front shocks. I read a tutorial on this site first, I was able to get the top bolt off the shock with no problems.
The nut on the lower mounting point came off but I could not move the bolt. Does it thread into the control arm or is it just rusted in place?
any tips to get this thing off would be appreciated!

Thank you for your help.

Ed

nope, its not threaded, just spray it down with some penetrating lube, and find a way to give her a whack. you should probably use a punch to get it all the way thru if it doesnt loosen up after you get it to move.

Yea, you knock them out, mine came out after sticking an impact on them. However, I did end up drilling the holes out one fraction larger to receive new hardened bolts. The replacement bolts were just a hair larger than OEM.

Pay special attention to that top nut and don't use any torque specs, use the 1mm like the write- up suggests. This will expand the inner reveal of the bushings perfectly, - theoretically.
