Canister Vent Solenoid YL5A-9F945-AA

Hi

Please help me find this part.

I need to replace the canister vent solenoid. The one I removed from the truck is the original. The number on the part is YL5A-9F945-AA.

I don't see it on the internet anywhere.

Where can I get one?

Thanks

Harry

Hi glc

Thank you for your reply.

No. The part I am looking for is back by the canister ....above the spare tire. The rockauto part in your post is located under the hood.

You can get it at the dealer. Not expensive at all. But do make sure that is the problem. What was your engine code? Awhile back I ran into some trouble that pointed to the canister vent solenoid but after I replaced it I learned that it was an electrical fault. Follow the two wires from the solenoid to the wire harness, I bet at the frame rail the wire has split open, as it tends to rub the frame rail.

Hi

I found one at the dealer and put it on this am.

I still have code p0455 EVAP Emission Contol System Leak (Large).

The 2 wires seem ok into the wire harness.

When the service engine soon light came on I bought a fuel cap.

Any suggestions?

I want to avoid a rape job at the dealer if I can avoid it.

Thanks

Hi

Update - today I replaced the Vapor Management Valve 9C915.....located beside the brake booster under the hood.

Hoping this will fix it.

Hi

UPDATE - after 300 miles no codes or service engine soon light....knocking on wood.

Apparently the Vapor Management Valve part #9C915 was inop (stuck closed). I bought the new Motorcraft on Amazon for $33.79.

The valve part of the canister vent solenoid (located beside the canister) was full of fine dust so I'm glad I replaced it....and the gas cap was original 2002.....so I'm glad I replaced that as well.
