i have a 2002 ford supercrew fx4 with the 5.4.
first question- can i pull a 25ft fifth wheel camper, would it even fit with a 5.5ft bed?

A camper dealer might be the best place to ask if a 5th wheel will fit in a screw bed.
Pull ratings should be a dealer question. Does it have the tow package? Some trucks have larger radiators than others for towing.
You can equip it to tow up to 10k lbs probably. I suspect to tow that much weight you will need to have a gear change.

You should not even try to 5th wheel with a 1/2 ton truck with a 5.5' bed.
Your max tow rating is 7100#. However, that's under ideal conditions and a 7100# trailer will probably run you over one of the other max ratings.

Here is another example of a tow question where the person has no idea of all the parameters involved.
First, to pull any 5th wheel not speciffically made for a short bed requires a special sliding bed mount to get clearence between the trailer overhang and the cab.
Second, trailer brakes are required on any trailer over 2500 lbs and is not the end all on how much weight a truck can legally and safely tow.
Third, donot rely on any dealer for towing capacity advice.
Forth, your truck has a reccommended Gross Combined Weight tow rateing that must not be exceeded for legal reasons as well as safety.
For example, if your truck is factory rated for a GCW of 11,600 lbs and your truck weighs in at 6500 lbs full of fuel, one passenger and some other weight, then it's 11,600 minus 6500 leaving a trailer loaded weight of 5100 lbs.
Think a 25' fifth wheel falls in that catagory?
All these other people that chime is about how much they tow that is way over limit, means nothing but foolishness on their parts and does not address proper and safe towing.

GCWR on your truck is 12500#. 12500 - 7100 = 5400. That doesn't allow for much load at ALL because your curb weight is 5110#. The official Ford chart only lists standard and supercabs for 5th wheel ratings, no supercrews.

Also, standard towing requires a weight distribution hitch if the trailer is over 5000# AND/OR the tongue weight is over 500#. Some Class 3 hitches are okay to 6000/600 without WD, you have to read the stamping on your hitch.
