i am an 11th grader and put my body lift on with 35s, it looks pretty good imo, just get a kit off of performanceaccessories.com they work good, get lots of penetrating oil and be ready to spend a lot of time on loosening the bolts, i spent a day and a half on mine, but i had all the tools to get every bolt out and the sheared bolts, its very time consuming but in the end its worth it,. look at my sig for what i did,
Summitracimg.com has good pricing on performance accesories lifts. I have pics of when I had my body lift and 35's in my gallery. It's not hard to put on it only took me and two other people a day to put it on. It's a cheap and easy way to get a lift and looks great.
a buddy of mine said dont do it because if messes with your steering, mpg, and drivetrain. is that true? and is it really worth it? i want to do it but messing with my steering kinda makes me not want to
the kits from performance accessories have a steering extension, so the steering isnt a problem, the mpg would go down if you put bigger tires on, and it doesnt mess with your drive train one bit, at least from what ive noticed, unless you crank your t-bars, then you need an alignment

get an alignment and add the body lift and you will be set. a body lift sets the body of the truck higher off the frame itself, in no way does a body lift mess with the drivetrain. as for the steering the performnce accesorys kit includes a spacer that extends your steering linkage. good luck my friend
There is alot of Highs schoolers here.. anyway body lifts are fine.. the only reason for me wanting a susp over body is i dont like having the gap between the frame and body just me though.. if it was not for that i would do body..
With gap guards and bumper relocation kits now you can barely even tell. Hell, you can even get your tow hooks back in the factory location with some modification. Put some steps on there and you will never know.
yep i'm a senior in highschool, you can get 3.5" lift spindles for about $400. I just put lift spindles on my truck, only took about 4 hours for two spindles and blocks and U bolts in the back
I remember those days... It was easier to mod back then though b/c you didnt need a spacer or cranked bars... you just stuffed them in there like this:

Those are 33x12.50's no lift. No rub either
Gotta love older trucks! Im pretty sure 36's would have stuffed in there w/ just a level kit, if they were around then. I miss that truck. Was my first truck, and well, there were a LOT of first's in that truck.. and I'll just leave it at that
