2001 F150 Transformation

So I finally got the chance to do a transformation thread. I know I don't have a lot done to it, especially compared to some other people on this site.

Anyways figured I would post up what I got so far.

Here she is the very first day I saw her. She was three years old with just over 75K on the clock.

December 25, 2004. First White Christmas in South Texas since the late 1800's. Isn't that just the perfect timing to get your first truck? haha. It took a bit for the mod bug to bite me, but once I did, I was infected. First thing I did was tint the windows. Can't remember the exact tint amount, but I'm gonna guess around 35% all around. Next thing I added was a Maganflow SI/DO 18" muffler with Magnaflow rolled SS tips. Then once I got some more cash together, I picked up a K&N '77 Series intake. Gave the exhaust a bit more throatier sound to it.

That was it for a while, at least until I finished high school. I did a few things to the interior, such as a Panasonic CQ-8100U headunit, Polk 5x7's & Rockford Fosgate 6x8's in the doors, and 2 Kicker CVR 10" subs powered by a Kicker ZX750.1 amp.

After I entered college, and joined this site (), I started to gain some more knowledge and find some more things I wanted to do to the truck. That all started with a pair of Belltech 2" drop shackles. Thanks to Patman03sprcrw for helping me install them. He knows these trucks like no one's business! From there I threw more $$$ into the failing economy for some Depo Black Lightning style headlights and clear reflector corners. I just couldn't stand the crappy light output I had from my old POS projectors. After the new heads came time for an Xcal 3 with custom tunes from VMP Tuning. Justin did an excellent job on them, just wish I could find the time and money to head to Florida and get some dynotunes from him.

This is what the truck looked like After the end of freshman year.

Since those pics I haven't really added anything else. Just a few window sticker deletions, a low profile TSC toolbox, and some PTM interior trim pieces. Also I added a 4x4 lower valance I picked up from Certifit Auto Parts Dealers for $27. Then grabbed some Diamond cut, clear lense OEM style foglights also made by Depo this past Christmas. Now all that's left to do to the front end it PTM the black plastics pieces.

And here she is as she sits in the driveway right now. (Except she isn't this clean as it rained today.....haha)

Right now, future plans include finishing up a piece together 2/4 drop, tinting the 3rd brake light, installing a LED light bar under the tailgate, painting exterior plastic pieces eithe gloss black of PTM, and eventually some nice 20" rims.

Thanks for lookin' guys! -Derek

this thread looks familiar... Where have I seen something likthis before? Haha jp

Looks good dude simple and clean. It'll look good with some rims and low pro tires.

I love my lightning heads. The output is 100x better than stock

can't wait to see what comes next

Heads are 1000x better than the stockers. Especially with my 6K HIDs in them. (which I forgot to add in the thread, but oh well). I got them for a few cents over $110 from carpartnation on eBay.

Always liked your truck. Never saw the rear end though...lose those quad tips man. Leave them to the euros. I personally thing this body style truck looks best with them 45'd out behind that rear tire.
